Production Supervisor - Fresh Venture Foods2nd shift Production Supervisor opening for a fresh-cut produce manufacturing facility located on California's central coast. Purpose of Position: To lead and supervise a team of production associates to meet production daily goals. Areas of responsibility includes but not limited to: employee safety, food safety, production efficiency, sanitation, material handling of raw product to the production lines. The ideal candidate is expected to understand and deliver production KPI's, work well in a diverse environment, motive a team and promote continuous improvement measure. Must be flexible with shift schedule. Bi-lingual SPanish - English is desireable.Essential Functions and Responsibilities Train, directs and supports the crew leads to motive and drive results among the production associatesResponsible for on-time start up and/or shutdown of daily production run.Analyze and report out of production dataCommunicates and implements policies and procedures to ensure complianceHandle safety, personnel and plant operational issues per company protocol and know when to escalate issues to management.Responsible for OSHA compliance and for safety and welfare of all employees on shiftResponsible for compliance to FSMA standards on shiftCoordinate with Human Resources regarding critical personnel issues.Lead the team on continuous improvement initiativesRecommend and implement safety corrective actions for unsafe conditions and unsafe behaviorReport work related injuries & illnesses and conduct accident investigationsEnsure conformance to PPE requirements and safety policies and procedures such as LOTO.Oversee training of new hires to include job expectationsMonitor employee performance and set expectationsMonitor Down time, identify triggers and tactics to reduce controllable causes to improve line efficiencies.Train crew leads to understand KPI's and implement goals and objectives for leaders to obtain results.Monitor yields for all commodities and labor efficiencies.Implement goals and objects for crew leads and Machine OperatorsWork with supply chain Manager to adhere to schedule attainmentWork with quality department to address quality issuesMonitor and train staff that all finished product is labeled correctly, handled and packaged correctlySanitation and Food SafetyEnsure proper sanitation is conducted during change overs and proper checks are conductedWork with quality department to address quality issuesEnsure conformance to GMP's, HACCP Program, Metal Detector checks, and customer specificationsMaintenanceWork with maintenance to identify and troubleshoot critical maintenance related issuesProcess work orders as neededEnsure priority maintenance work is completed in a timely manner to minimize down-time issues and unsafe conditions related to equipment. Knowledge and SkillsBachelor's Degree is preferred; high school diploma or equivalent is required.3-5 years of experience in a supervisory role in a production / manufacturing environment is required.Knowledge of applicable government regulations including but not limited to GMP's, HACCP, and FDA regulations and FSMA standardsExcellent Computer skills using Microsoft Office ApplicationsExperience using ERP systemsMust demonstrate excellent judgement and decision-making abilitiesMust be able to work independently and with ambiguityFamiliarity with Lean Manufacturing principles is a plusWorking knowledge of employment law and California wage & hour regulationsKnowledge of OSHA RegulationsAbility to work under pressure and multitask and set priorities.Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills. Bi-lingual (Spanish / English) is recommended.Ability to multi-task and utilize resources in order to execute tasks within a fast-paced production environment.
