Loan Documentation Specialist

Job Description:

The Loan Documentation Specialist position interprets documentation requirements from an approved Credit Application. Prepares legal documentation utilizing knowledge of the Bank¿s policies and procedures. Responsibilities will include and are not limited to the following:


¿ Prepares loan documentation using the appropriate software (e.g. LaserPro or HotDocs) in accordance with the loan documentation request and approved Credit Application based on the loan structure.


¿ Responsible for preparing loan documents in accordance with the loan structure and entity type which may consist of but is not limited to RLOC, LOC, (secured & unsecured), Term, Swaps, Commercial RE, and Ag.


¿ Reviews loan documentation request and identifies any issues and takes appropriate action to ensure the documentation packages are documented in accordance with Bank policies and procedures and are in adherence with compliance and regulatory requirements.


¿ Consults with manager on unresolved issues and/or complex issues to ensure the documents represent an appropriate binding commitment for the Bank.


¿ Makes appropriate documentation and/or data corrections before finalizing the request, as directed by quality reviewer, or manager.


¿ Performs quality review of loan packages to determine the correctness of the documents as related to the loan structure, and to ensure consistency, accuracy, quality of documentation and that supporting documentation has been obtained.


¿ Quality Reviewer discusses documentation issues directly with loan preparer, department manager(s) and/or legal counsel to ensure all documentation packages accurately reflect the approved Credit Application.


¿ Quality Reviewer provides guidance to documentation preparers as needed to ensure all aspects of a loan are properly documented.


¿ Participates in departmental projects.


¿ Performs all other job duties as assigned by supervisor.



Successful candidates will possess the following:


¿ High school diploma or equivalent, with 3 years related experience, advanced knowledge in assigned area of loan doc preparation.


¿ Proficient knowledge of the loan prep system, is able to communicate orally and in writing effectively.


¿ Proficient with: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, Internet, Metavante or FIS (or similar system), LaserPro or HotDocs (or similar system as applicable).


¿ Ability to travel between bank locations and/or commute for training purposes - less than 25%.
