Responsibilities
About This Position
In keeping with the Marian Medical Center philosophy, the Microbiology Service Area Specialist plans, organizes and delineates microbiology duties at French Hospital Medical Center and Arroyo Grande Community Hospital under the direction of the Microbiology Supervisor and the Clinical Laboratory Director. Participates in intra- and inter-departmental Continuous Quality Improvement processes. Performs all duties using independent judgment, initiative, and follow-through. Rotates shifts, holidays, and weekends as needed. Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at any time at the discretion of management, following written notice. - Selection Criteria Bachelors Degree in health-related science. Certification as an ASCP Specialist in Microbiology preferred. Minimum of five years experience in clinical Microbiology, preferably in an acute-care setting. Licensed by the California Department of Public Health as a Clinical Lab Scientist.
