Responsibilities

About This Position

In keeping with the Marian Medical Center philosophy, under supervision, performs a variety of administrative support duties including the collection, processing, storage, retrieval and dissemination of data, information or materials by electronic or manual means. Provides reception and information to applicants, employees and managers of all levels and clerical support to the Vice President.

Maintains accurate personnel files and responds to requests for verification of employment. Provides benefit information to employees. Provides customary and usual human resource office administration assistance in support of the Marian Medical Center's policies and objectives.

Selection Criteria

One to two years clerical experience, preferably within a hospital environment. Experience in a Human Resource Department including experience with automated personnel systems desired. Knowledge of the more difficult Human Resource office administration practices and procedures. Ability to communicate both orally and written to employees and visitors of all levels. Familiarity with Human Resource terminology and functions usually requiring a minimum of one year of experience. Ability to perform a variety of clerical functions. Follow oral and written instructions. Meet the public with tact and courtesy and effectively relate to applicants, employees and management. Knowledge of automated personnel systems desired. Knowledge of software programs including all Microsoft Office Suite products.

Qualifications

At least three years of clerical or administrative experience required. Hospital based experience preferred. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required. Experience with Lawson software program preferred. Efficient, professional, self-motivated. Ability to give superior customer service. Ablility to hold in confidence sensitive and confidential matters. Interpersonal skills necessary to interact with all levels of staff, other departments, and the public in a pleasant, helpful and cooperative manner.
