Overview Marian Regional Medical Center , located in Santa Maria, CA, is nationally ranked among the top 10% in the nation for safety core measures in Cardiac Services and has the only comprehensive Cancer treatment and resource program from Los Angeles to San Francisco. In April 2012, Marian opened its doors to a brand new state-of-the-art facility which houses the latest technology to support excellent physicians and caregivers who deliver compassionate care each and every day. Marian's new hospital includes 191 beds, expanded and enhanced Emergency Department, Critical Care Unit, NICU and women's services. Marian is a Dignity Health member of the Central Coast, which also includes Arroyo Grande Community Hospital in Arroyo Grande, CA and French Hospital Medical Center in San Luis Obispo, CA. Responsibilities Position Summary: In keeping with Marian Regional Medical Center health care philosophy, the Team Lead provides for team development and coordinates the plan for patient care with Plaza Surgery Center personnel. Ensures the perioperative patient's safety through MMC and PSC policies and procedures. Works closely with medical, nursing, and ancillary staff, and interacts with other departments of the medical center. Assists with maintaining staffing schedules, staff education, and meetings. Assumes leadership role for unit personnel to assist them and serves as a resource person. Ability to function as a Peri-operative Nurse. Gives patient care as per nursing process. Demonstrates a caring compassionate attitude toward others. Ability to model the leadership role for the patient-care team. Demonstrates skills in appropriately delegating patient-care tasks to other team members. Extensive knowledge of CQI techniques and the ability to apply these techniques in-patient care. Consistently demonstrates knowledge and utilization of CQI techniques in-patient care improvement projects. Demonstrates ability to chair and actively participates in unit leadership teams, task forces or committees. Organizes and prioritizes work efficiently. Demonstrates clear and effective written and oral English language skills and objective active-listening skills. Knowledge of the concepts of Change Theory and the ability to identify the need for change as well as the ability to apply these principles. Ability to act as a role model and resource for all patient-care team members. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with others across all departments. Ability to achieve results for the organization with and through people, utilizing creative and innovative solutions, conflict management and problem-solving skills. Qualifications Minimum: Three years recent Operating Room experience required. Ability to function as a circulating/scrub nurse. Current California Registered Nurse license and current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications Preferred: Two years leadership experience or basic supervisory course.
