Santa Maria Agriculture Company is looking for a full time Payroll Assistant POSITION SUMMARY: Payroll Assistant is a full-time position that assists the payroll department in the organization of payroll records and processing of new/re-hire information while assisting candidates in employment inquiries. ESSENTIAL TASKS/JOB DUTIES: --- The data entry of all new and re-hired employees into designated software. --- Review timesheets, and other information to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies for weekly payment for all field employees. Obtain supervisory approval of time card discrepancies. --- Verify attendance, hours worked, and post information onto designated records. --- Record employee information, such as transfers, and resignations, to maintain and update payroll records. --- Maintain filing system for payroll, I-9 forms and related records electronically and manually. --- Assist in the daily Berry Production for our Labor Contractor --- Assist with any applicants inquiring about employment and complete employee related forms. --- Communicate with managers, supervisors, co-workers, and employees while maintaining confidentiality and protects payroll operations. --- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. --- Other duties may be assigned as needed. --- Answering phones and greeting employees and/or customers/vendors. --- Distribution of weekly checks, while communicating effectively with P/R team on the maintenance of the check folder.
