Cath Lab Tech Location: Bakersfield, CA Agency: United Health Care Staffing Pay: $97 per hour Shift Information: Days Contract Duration: 13 Days Start Date: ASAP About the Position Cath Lab Technologist – UHC Staffing Cath Lab Technologist Location: Bakersfield, CA Start Date: 02-02-2026 End Date: 05-04-2026 Contract Type: Travel Contract Shift Type: Day shifts, 10-hour shifts (10s) — exact start/end times vary by unit; typically scheduled to reach 40 hours/week (Monday–Friday common). Rotating weeknight call ~1x/week for inpatient/emergent cases. Weekend call ~1 weekend/month (runs Friday evening through Monday morning). Every-other-weekend (EOW) expectations and first-to-float responsibilities apply. Roles & Responsibilities Support and execute cath lab procedures with confidence and precision Monitor hemodynamics and patient status throughout procedures Assist with conscious and moderate sedation processes as part of the team Manage airway interventions and respond quickly to procedural needs Prepare, administer, and monitor cardiac medication drips under protocol Operate fluoroscopy equipment and follow radiation safety practices Assist with balloon pump management and other advanced cardiac supports Collaborate with RNs, lead techs, and physicians to ensure smooth room flow in a high-volume environment Qualifications ARRT certification (required) Current Fluoroscopy certification (required) BLS certification (required) Minimum 2 years of recent cath lab experience (no first-time travelers) Comfortable with conscious and moderate sedation workflows Experience with airway management, hemodynamic monitoring, cardiac drips (e.g., Integrilin, dopamine, vasopressors) and balloon pumps Experience in high-volume cath lab settings preferred Ability to rotate for call and work occasional weekends as scheduled Education High school diploma or equivalent (required) Completion of an accredited cath lab technologist program or equivalent experience preferred BSN not required Knowledge & Skills Cath lab procedures: coronary, vascular, peripheral, IR, neuro intervention, EP Fluoroscopy operation and radiation safety Hemodynamic and patient monitoring Sedation management and airway support Cardiac drip management and vasoactive medications Balloon pump setup and troubleshooting STEMI receiving protocols and emergent case readiness Charting experience with Cerner and comfort working in fast-paced units Benefits Generous housing stipend and travel support to get you settled quickly Medical, dental & vision coverage so you can focus on care, not paperwork 401(k) retirement savings plan to help you plan for the future Life insurance and other protections for peace of mind Paid time off to recharge between assignments Licensure assistance & reimbursement to keep your credentials current Travel reimbursement and support — we’ve got the logistics covered Referral bonus program and a supportive team that values YOU Travel Perks: Explore Bakersfield, CA Explore Bakersfield’s local flavor between shifts — stroll Hart Memorial Park and the scenic Kern River Parkway, visit the Bakersfield Museum of Art and the Kern County Museum to soak up local history, catch live country music or a show at Buck Owens’ Crystal Palace, and enjoy hikes or picnics at Lake Ming.
