Health to find a qualified Labor/Delivery RN in Santa Maria,
California, 93454! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN

Nights Hours per Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM Experience: 2 years
minimum License: Required Certifications: ACLS, Advanced Fetal
Monitoring, BLS, COVID Vaccine Required, NRP Must-Have: C-section
experience required; scrubbing experience preferred Description:
Unit includes L&D and Postpartum care. There are 14 labor and
delivery beds and 28 postpartum beds. The unit has an additional 6
triage beds and 2 operating rooms. The facility averages 250 births
per month. Required certifications include ACLS, BLS, and NRP for
postpartum care. Nurse-to-patient ratios are 2 to 1 for laboring
patients and 1 to 4 for couplet care. Fetal monitoring system is
utilized. Electronic medical record system is Cerner. Charge nurses
typically do not have a patient assignment. Nurse aides and OB
techs are present on both day and night shifts. Weekend work is
required every other weekend. There is no call requirement, but
standby may be necessary. Holiday shifts will be rotated among
permanent staff. Nurses wear navy for postpartum and seal blue
(provided) for labor and delivery. There are no ventilators on
site; however, respiratory therapy is available 24/7. Pharmacy
services are available 24/7. Shifts are 12 hours long, either 7:00
AM - 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM. C-section experience is required
for circulation; scrubbing experience is preferred. Floating to
postpartum is expected, but postpartum nurses will not float to
labor and delivery. Common diagnoses include antepartum cases,
high-risk deliveries, substance abuse, pre-eclampsia, and patients
with insulin-dependent diabetes. Cancellation policy allows for up
to 4 shifts to be canceled during the 13-week assignment. 5
