Quality Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in Santa Maria, California.Job Description & Requirements

  - # beds: 4 beds in PICU (future state); NICU 21 beds; Peds 8 beds(ped medsurg acuity)
  - Certs: BLS, NRP; PALS and STABLE preferred...
  - Ratios: 1 to 1 and 1 to 3; Peds 1 to1 or 1 to 4 (PICU 1 ot 1 or 1 to2 NICU 1to1 through 1 to 3 , ped unit 1 to 4 could be less
  - EMR: Cerner
  - Charge Nurse: NICU almost always; Peds not always
  - Nurse Aides: No aides
  - Weekend Requirement: EOW
  - Holidays: 2 major
  - Scrub Color: Navy
  - Tele: Phillips tele - not required to read them
  - Vents: oscillators, draeger, cpap and high flow nasal cannula
  - Hospitalist or Intensivist in house: neonataologist - not only on 24/7
  - IV Team: no
  - RT 24/7: Yes
  - Pharmacy 24/7: Yes
  - Call: Sometimes, low census (Standby)
  - Shifts: 12's (7-7), self scheduling primarily
  - Floating: NICU float to Nursery and Peds; Mother Baby (not typical)only if they have that experience, lenient with ped expereince, level 3 NICU
  - Floor specific orientation: NICU (2-3 shifts) Peds (2 shifts)
  - Common diagnosis / Types of patients: 23 weeks and bove, cooling-expreience preferred, feeders/growers, no ecmolevel 3 or above for experience, must be comfortabel with high frequency oscilattors and vents
  - Additional Notes: 2 years experinece or more, previous travel experience is not required.Quality Nurses Job ID #d378882.
