Overview
Marian Regional Medical Center , located in Santa Maria, CA, is nationally ranked among the top 10% in the nation for safety core measures in Cardiac Services and has the only comprehensive Cancer treatment and resource program from Los Angeles to San Francisco. In April 2012, Marian opened its doors to a brand new state-of-the-art facility which houses the latest technology to support excellent physicians and caregivers who deliver compassionate care each and every day. Marian's new hospital includes 191 beds, expanded and enhanced Emergency Department, Critical Care Unit, NICU and women's services.

Responsibilities
About This Position
Under supervision, the Case Manager plans, organizes and manages a patient caseload: applies concepts derived from management and communications theory, group dynamics, counseling methodologies, and clinical nursing judgment to implement a clinical nursing program or programs.

Provides direct patient care through use of nursing process, performs established nursing intervention utilizing current clinical knowledge. Initiates and participates in patient, family and staff education. Demonstrates leadership capabilities. Serves as preceptor for orientees and students. Major responsibilities are listed; however, other duties may be assigned. Demonstrates a caring, compassionate attitude toward others. Demonstrates ability to delegate appropriate patient-care tasks, duties, etc. to others. Ability and willingness to actively participate in agency task forces and committees. Demonstrates ability to organize and prioritize work efficiently. Demonstrates clear, effective written and oral English skills, and objective, active listening skills. Reacts calmly and efficiently in emergencies. Acts as a role model for new orientees/students. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with others across all agency departments. Ability to achieve results for the organization with and through people, utilizing creative and innovative solutions and conflict management problem-solving skills.

Selection Criteria:
At least one year as an RN in acute care setting or specialty area. Home health experience preferred. Demonstrates ability to work within a decentralized model of patient-care delivery. Demonstrates proficient intermediate nursing skills and specialty skills. California Registered Nurse license. Current CPR certification and current California driver's license with proof of liability insurance for automobile.
