Brief Description Manual Centerless Grinder Machinist is responsible for producing work meeting the drawing specifications and requirements. Key Accountabilities - Completes set-ups with supervision/assistance. - Responsible for all phases of part operation set-up to achieve first article acceptance within allotment time. - Perform and maintain accurate in-process quality inspection and records. - May have opportunity to identify and recommend process improvements that reduce part quality variation. - Look for ways to improve processes, procedures, and eliminate waste. - Perform other related duties as assigned. Desirable Experience, Capabilities and Success Factors - Some experience working in a manufacturing environment. - Some experience with of part operation set-up on various Manual Grinders/Hone equipment. - CNC/Technology/Machinist trade school certification a plus. - Ability to use Air Indicators, Dial Bore Gages, Deltronic pin, Profilometers and plate inspection methods, first article and in-process inspection of precision machined parts. - Ability to learn to maintain required finishes, close tolerances (within .0002-.0005”) of I.D’s, O.D.'S, roundness, perpendicularity and concentricity. - Understanding of machine tool accuracies, size offsets, tool pressures and required tooling a plus. - Some knowledge of cutting tool feeds, speeds, and best tool life for aerospace materials a plus. - Ability to follow verbal instructions and interpret blueprint and quality requirements in English. - Ability to communicate with employees and management in a positive manner. - Ability to lift a maximum of 25 lbs.
