Job Description:
This position is responsible for quality improvement issues related
to suppliers and/or subcontractors of materials, products or
services used in development or manufacturing. This is a
resident/onsite position at a L3Harris supplier in Los Osos,
CA.
Collaborates with quality, engineering and manufacturing functions
at L3H and suppliers to ensure quality standards and product
requirements are met. Ensures supplier contract requirements are
implemented and verified.
Monitors quality control activities and systems at supplier
facilities and maintains feedback loops.
Performs surveillance ensuring supplier's conformance to company
and program requirements.
Performs source inspections (both in process and final), first
articles, manufacturing process validations, source surveillance
and special process audits, as applicable.
Provides internal and supplier support for root cause and
corrective/preventive actions related to supplier discrepancies.
Supports supplier failure investigations as required.
Ensures control of supplier nonconforming items, conducts analyses,
and monitor effectiveness of corrective actions at the
supplier.
Monitor and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in order to
adhere to process and prevent occurrence of any non-conformity
relating to product, process or system
Promote the use of customer preferred techniques for continuous
improvement such as Zero Defect Planning, Controlled build,
Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing), and Measurement System Analysis
Participate in the development and refinement of Design and Process
FMEA's (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and provide customer
feedback as required.
Essential Functions:
Collaborates with quality, engineering and manufacturing functions
at L3H and suppliers to ensure quality standards and product
requirements are met. Ensures supplier contract requirements are
implemented and verified.
Work proactively with L3Harris suppliers utilizing tools such as
APQP and Zero Defect Planning to mitigate the risk of escapes to
L3Harris and/or L3Harris customers.
Qualifications:
Requires proficient knowledge of job area typically obtained
through advanced education combined with experience. May have
practical knowledge of project management.
Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience
or
Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related
experience.
Ability to focus, prioritize, and multi-task successfully to drive
projects to closure
Demonstrated knowledge in Machine & Fabrication and/or Printed
Wiring Board manufacture
Ability to perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) using standard RCA
tools
Ability to perform trend analysis
Interactive skills, strong written and communication skills
Ability to travel up to 25% percent
Ability to work in a team environment.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Prior supplier quality enginnering experinece in a aerospace
company
Working knowledge of PPAP implementation and associated
elements
Experience with Predictive Quality and problem-solving
methodologies
ISO9001/AS9100 and process audit experience
Supplier Development and Engagement experience
Experience presenting to upper-level management
Lean Concepts
Commodity management experience
ZDP Project Management
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range
for this role is $110,000 - $200,000. This is not a guarantee of
compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on
factors including but not limited to experience and geographic
location. L3Harris also offers a variety of benefits, including
