title: Project Engineer III Reports to: Principal Engineer Summary:
This position is responsible for performing mechanical and
electrical engineering design and testing for multiple airborne
Aerospace avionics, Li-Ion battery, GPS Tracking and Autonomous
Flight Termination System projects. Provides mechanical and
electrical system assembly processes, production travelers and test
activities for avionics, electronics and Li-Ion battery flight
units for launch vehicles, missiles, and satellites. Analyzes
assembly, fabrication, machining, and other processes. Maximizes
efficiency by optimization of layout of equipment, workflow,
assembly methods, and work force utilization. Determines the parts,
equipment, tools, and processes needed to achieve manufacturing
goals according to product specifications. Responsibilities:
Design, layout, and testing of mechanical and electrical systems
Space environmental testing (thermal cycle, vibration, shock, EMI,
etc.) Writes engineering documentation to meet customer design
requirements Engineering Contract Data Requirement List (CDRLs)
including FMECA, worst case circuit analysis, reliability analysis,
As designed and As built parts and material lists, etc. Writes
production unit traveler work instructions Establishes production
routings to be followed during each step of the manufacturing
process when transforming components and raw materials into final
flight unit products. ERP System production planning Assigns work
and oversees the work product Ensures conformance to established
procedures and product quality levels Identifies units that fail
tests or tolerance levels and supervise repairs as necessary Work
out suggestions for improvements and initiates their implementation
Develop documentation to meet customer requirements Required
Competencies: Experience 5-15 years of experience in the following
areas: Li-Ion Battery, Avionics and Electronics Assembly of flight
units with mechanical housing, power, data, and RF cables.
Technical Skills Unit Production routing and BOM updates Production
processes control and analysis Design Mechanical Systems with CAD
(Solid Works, etc.) Environmental testing of flight units
Mechanical and Electrical assembly of flight units Ability to read
electrical schematics and supervise wiring and assembly Write
production floor unit traveler instructions Production traveler
development, review, and quality sign-off Corrective action
requests and non-conformance reports Experience with ERP Systems
(Microsoft Nav, SAP, etc.) Computer (Microsoft Sharepoint, Word,
Excel, Power Point, Visio, etc.) Familiar with J-STD-001 soldering
requirements AS9100D quality assurance processes and procedures
with management input Soft Skills Strong interpersonal skills
Supervise and lead team to reach the next level of excellence
Ability to write technical documents and procedures Education B.S.
in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering (M.S. preferred)
Desired Competencies: Technical Skills CAD Design (Solid Works,
etc.) Mechanical and Electrical System Design Quality assurance ERP
Systems for manufacturing (BOM, Floor Travelers, Routings, etc.)
ITAR Requirements To conform to U.S. Government space technology
export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful
permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by
ITAR (22 CFR --120.15) or eligible to obtain the required
authorizations from the U.S. Department of State. Space Information
Laboratories--- Mission: To develop, manufacture, and integrate
cost effective, operationally responsive technologies for aerospace

success. Compensation: Salary Range: $110,000 to $135,000 Medical
Benefits: Company-paid health, dental, and vision insurance, which
includes one hundred percent (100%) coverage for the employee and
fifty percent (50%) coverage for dependents Retirement Benefits:
Company 401k retirement plan, where the company will match up to
four percent (4%) of employee contributions, subject to plan terms
and conditions. Insurance Benefits: $15,000 in company-paid life
insurance Other Benefits: Two (2) weeks of annual vacation, five
(5) days of sick leave, and ten (10) annual government holidays.
