support.How you make a difference:As a Substance Use Disorder (SUD)
Counselor, the primary responsibility is to evaluate, treat, and
provide support for individuals on their recovery journey from
substance use disorders. By actively participating as an
interdisciplinary team member, the SUD Counselor contributes to
fostering positive clinical outcomes for individuals seeking
recovery. Additionally, the counselor plays a vital role in
preparing individuals for discharge and ensuring continuity of care
to promote a seamless transition in their recovery process.Key
Responsibilities:Administer screening and assessment tools,
utilizing certification/licensure to diagnose substance use
disorders within the scope of practice.Contribute to treatment
plans and actively participate in multidisciplinary team meetings,
collaborating closely with healthcare professionals to evaluate and
treat patients with Substance Use Disorder (SUD).Deliver group and
individual services for individuals with substance use disorders,
ensuring thorough, accurate, and timely documentation while
maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA
requirements.Collect and analyze data related to provided services,
assisting in report preparation as necessary for contracts, grants,
and accreditation.Plan for the continuity of care upon the
individual's release from the facility, providing crisis response
and intervention services, and fulfilling other assigned
duties.Additional Details: Must be Certified Substance Abuse
Counselor: CATC II, III; SUDCC II, III; CADC II, IIIQualifications
& Requirements:EducationAssociated degree and certification
required.Bachelors degree in health services field is
preferred.ExperienceExperience providing SUD counseling
required.Ability to practice independently
requiredLicenses/CertificationsSubstance Use Disorder Certified
