Responsibilities:
About this Position:In keeping with Marian Regional Medical Center's health care philosophy and under the direction of the Central Coast Shared Business Office/Patient Financial Services Supervisor or Manager, the Collections Specialist is responsible for third-party collection activities within the multi-facility environment with emphasis on complex accounts, data-retrieval and report creation to support data needs to the CFO/Controllers, Revenue Services, auditors and for special projects. The Specialist supports vendor activities and account reconciliation, interacts collaboratively with Admitting, Case Management, and Health Information Management to resolve patient account issues and provides a high-level of professionalism and customer service to both internal and external customers. The Collections Specialist may be assigned to other duties.

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:Customer service experience,Knowledge of billing and collection functions in the acute hospital setting.1 year of hospital collections experience.Keyboarding skillsSome college.Able to work quickly and efficiently, often under pressure.Able to react calmly when patients are upset.Works as a member of a team and is able to create complex professional reports and spreadsheets.
